How we got here
A focused practice. No black box.
Archipartners Design started in 2018 with a simple frustration: every drafting firm in the Valley felt like a black box. You sent a sketch, you waited four weeks, and you got back something that almost worked. We thought there was a better way to run a drafting studio — faster, more transparent, and obsessed with the code.
Today we are eight people in Phoenix, drawing for clients in all 50 states. Senior drafters, a permit specialist, a coordinator. Every set ships through senior review before it leaves the building. Nothing gets sent offshore. Nothing gets junior-staffed. We work in English, Spanish, and Chinese, re-cut our own errors at no charge, and answer the phone.

How we operate
Four principles. Non-negotiable.
We hire, draft, and quote against these. They are the difference between a set that ships and a set that sits on a plan-checker’s desk.

Trilingual by default
English, Spanish, and Chinese on every interaction — intake bot, contract, portal, shop drawings. The trades on your jobsite shouldn’t have to translate the plans.

Code-first, not vibes
IBC 2024, IRC 2024, IECC 2024, plus every state amendment we have encountered. We cite section numbers in our notes and we keep the books on the desk.

Transparent fees
Fixed-fee on 80% of work. Hourly only when scope can’t be defined upfront. No mystery invoices, no surprises at change-order time.
The studio
Eight people. Phoenix-based. Drawing nationwide.
We staff every project with a senior drafter as principal-in-charge. No offshoring, no contractors stitched together at the last minute.

The other half of every set.
We draw the documents. Licensed engineers seal the systems inside them — and on our projects that work sits with two firms we trust completely. Neither one gets called in at the end; both are in the drawings from the first sketch.

Holmes Engineering and Design
Holmes Engineering and Design (HE&D LLC) is our designated structural engineering partner across residential and commercial work. The structure inside our sets is theirs — foundations, gravity and lateral systems, the calcs behind every beam — engineered alongside the architecture from the first sketch, not bolted on after.
They’re the first call we make when a design starts carrying load, and the voice we trust when a plan checker or a framer has a hard question. Project after project, they’ve caught what we couldn’t see, tightened what we drew, and answered the field before the field had to wait.
Their engineers treat our clients’ budgets like their own — right-sizing every member instead of over-building it — and their work comes back fast, coordinated, and buildable. That’s why their name sits next to ours.

PrimeCore Engineering
PrimeCore Engineering is our designated MEP partner. Everything that makes a building actually work is theirs — load calculations, panel schedules and circuiting, plumbing risers, ventilation and hood exhaust, and the energy compliance a set lives or dies on: Title 24, COMcheck, REScheck, Manual J/S/D.
They are the reason a service upgrade, a Type-1 hood, or an energy deadline never turns into a scramble. Their engineers read a set the way a plan checker does, and they tell us what the mechanical room needs while the walls can still move — which is the only time that information is cheap.
Residential, commercial, industrial, and across state lines like we work — their sheets come back coordinated with the architecture and ready to submit. Precision in every project is their line, and our sets are better for it.
