Each Nevada building department has its own submittal format. We prepare sets for Clark County, the City of Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Washoe, and Reno in each department’s format.

Building codes are adopted city by city and county by county: Southern Nevada jurisdictions share the Southern Nevada Amendments, northern ones the Northern Nevada Amendments, and each adopts on its own schedule — we confirm the edition for every project. The energy code is set statewide.

Clark County publishes its review goals
Clark County’s Building Department publishes first-review goals by project type, including a 7-Day track for zoning-approved commercial jobs under $100,000, and reports on meeting them. We follow its submittal requirements.
Henderson and North Las Vegas run their own departments
Both cities have their own building departments separate from Clark County, with their own review queues and sign rules. Henderson publishes an expedited plan-review option; ask the city whether your project qualifies.
Wildland-urban interface around Reno
Washoe County has adopted the 2024 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code; check whether the parcel is in a mapped WUI area before design.
Statewide energy code: IECC 2024
Nevada’s Governor’s Office of Energy adopts the IECC statewide (the 2024 edition, effective Aug. 18, 2024); cities and counties adopt it and may add stricter amendments. Use the compliance path your AHJ’s adopted edition allows.
HOW WE WORK IN NEVADA
Clark County and the City of Las Vegas take permit sets through their own online portals; we follow each department’s published submittal requirements. Clark County also publishes its first-review goals and reports on meeting them.
Henderson and North Las Vegas are separate AHJs with their own counters, review queues and sign rules; we check each city’s requirements at kickoff.
For Reno and Washoe County, where structural or MEP engineering is required, an independent Nevada-registered engineer prepares or directly supervises that work and seals it; we coordinate our drawings with theirs. Washoe County enforces the 2024 Wildland-Urban Interface Code where it applies; we flag WUI parcels on the kickoff call.
